That Queensberry vs Matchroom undercard on the Beterbiev vs Bivol card is monstrous.

Beterviev vs Bivol - I think Bivol will win via UD

Wilder vs Zhang - I think Wilder will KO Zhang in 7 or 8 rounds.

Dubois vs Hrgovic - If this had been before Dubois fought Miller, I'd have said Hrgovic stops him early but Hrgovic has looked pretty poor lately, so I really don't know.

Sheeraz vs Williams will be a cracking fight, I think Sheeraz will be too big for Williams.

Ford vs Ball will be all action. Hopefully Ball can get the win this time!

Also, on a negative note, why is the Pope blessing the WBC belt before the undisputed? Lmao

It's the best card I can remember mate. Bivol v Beterbiev is arguably the best fight that can be made in the sport now. Backed up by a class undercard.

Each bout is hard to pick a winner. Finally boxing fans are getting the fights they want. Fair play to the Saudis.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Some absolute bloodbaths over the weekend.

Tim Tszyu was upset by Fondora after he received a horrible cut on his forehead from an elbow I think. Fondora also had a broken nose which just made it even more of a blood bath lol.

Then you have the mental brawl that was Wardley vs Clarke. I expected Wardley to chin Clarke to be honest, but damn what a fight.

I want to see them rematch but not straight away, they both need a fight against less stellar opposition before they rematch, simply for health and confidence reasons.

I was only able to get highlights of the Tszyu and Fundora bout as it wasn't shown over here but they both looked like something out of horror movie. Both men bled profusely. Both mens stock has risen because of this bloodbath.

Wardleys nose was an absolute mess. Was great bout and both men showed a lot of heart. Definitely want to see it again but agree It doesn't have to happen next.

Folded like a deck chair, wow.

Fury won't fight AJ.

One of worse KOs seen since Manny flattened Hatton (generally worrying that one) - glad Francis was ok.

TBf Fury vs Osyk is rightly biggest fight scheduled (and can’t deny either a rematch as Osyk beat AJ twice) - after that will see what’s what. Though would say that is first MMA vs boxer fight that made boxing look good or boxer performed how you’d expect them to.

Hopefully boxing can focus on boxers fighting top level boxing. Imagine cáñelo would do farrrr worse to Jake Paul and boxers should follow this example to quiet fights of this nature

Awful fight AJ did what needed to be done.

3.) 09 Mar 2024 19:07:19
Fair play to Aj. Biggest winner of the night was boxing, Biggest loser was Fury.

Hope this puts an end to this cross over lark before one of them get hurt.

Will be very disappointed if Joshua doesn't stop Ngannou.

Parker vs Zhang will be interesting. I think Parker will win by a close points decision, I suspect Zhang will start to lose momentum late on as he's got questionable stamina.

Nick Ball should win also.

Decent card to be fair.

Joshua to stop Ngannou inside 4.

Parker/Zhang is a real 50/50 but I think Zhang takes it on points.

2.) 07 Mar 2024 12:56:09
Also think Joshua will win early.

Zhang v Parker is a good scrap, I'd say Zhang to big for him and will win by ko.

Zhang coming in at 290? Sheesh man is going to be blowing by 5.

Just for a bit of fun I decided to have a look and see what BoxRec had as the all time pound for pound list.

It's quite interesting to be honest, there are a lot of names that you would expect to be in the top 50 but there are also some that are mind boggling.as to why they are rated to highly.

I'm not going to denigrate any of the people in this list, they are all elite level fighters, but I don't understand some of them.

For example: Oscar De La Hoya comes in at number 17 which is baffling. He's rated above the likes of Canelo (22), Harry Greb (26), Joe Calzaghe (27), Willie Pep (30), Jake LaMotta (32), Archie Moore (37).

Some of those names listed should arguably be in the top 10, but they're not even in the top 20. I'd love to know what formula they use to determine the ratings.

They use a formula called the Whole-History Rating Algorithm, need to work for NASA to understand how it works.

The site was created by a guy called John Sheppard, I read a couple of funny things he's had to deal with over the years running the site;

An American boxer emailed BoxRec.com to say that he was disputing a bout he’d lost in Mexico. The fighter wrote that, at the weigh-in, he was four inches taller than his opponent. But when he entered the ring on fight night, the man he was facing was two inches taller than he was.

A Mexican commission submitted an event report to BoxRec that included a fight lost by “Jose Lopez.” There are more than a hundred “Jose Lopezes” in BoxRec’s database, so Sheppard asked for clarification as to which Jose Lopez it was. “We don’t know, ” the commission responded. “But he lost, it doesn’t matter, just pick one.”

A new commissioner submitted her first report to BoxRec and Sheppard noted that, in one of the bouts, both boxers were reported as winning. He telephoned the commissioner to clarify the result and she told him that a more experienced commissioner had spent a half-hour training her on fight night. One of the questions she’d asked was, “How do I know who won? ” The more experienced commissioner told her, “That’s easy. The referee will raise the winner’s hand.” He didn’t teach her about draws.

I believe that system is similar to the ELO rating system they use in Chess?

Oh man that's funny, Boxing is so broken.

I'm not sure about chess mate your probably right but.

Aye its the wild west of sports mate. Lol

He punches in slow motion and his only real weapon is his jab. If he lands clean it's going to hurt for sure (just ask Parker) but he's very beatable.

If he fought long he'd be considered a p4p fighter, he'd have definitely beaten Canelo and I think he'd have a better chance of beating Beterbiev.

Speaking of which, Bellew made a mess of himself (again) by calling Beterbiev a cheater and going on a rant about how it's dangerous, yet won't condemn Conor Benn lol
